A composer of music used for therapy and relaxation will use the launch of her fifth album, to support one of the charities who use her work.

Julia Thomsen, from Westover Road, was brought up in Scotland and now lives in Wandsworth with her French husband and two sons.

She has been composing music which has been used in art exhibitions, yoga classes, and complementary therapy for 15 years.

Her fifth album, Forever Seasons follows Sky Drop which was released in October 2014 and reached number five in the World New Age chart on iTunes.

A percentage of the proceeds from this album will go to Paul’s Cancer Support centre in Battersea.

She said: “Consistent with my previous album, Forever Seasons has been inspired by my family, emotional events, landscapes and nature.

“My music aims to be soothing yet uplifting at the same time.

“It provides a relaxing and calm atmosphere where they can escape from the endless technology intrusions and to do lists.”

Elizabeth Hartman, director of The Chelsea Group Of Children said: “Julia Thomsen composes ethereal music, which we effectively use in yoga sessions in our special needs School for children aged four to 11 years.

“Forever Seasons creates the calm atmosphere required for children with attention deficit or anxiety to access their lesson.”

Mrs Thomsen composed the score for the film Looking Out For George which was shortlisted for a special jury prize at the Raindance Film Festival in 2002.

Lucy Davis, head of fundraising at Paul’s Cancer Support centre in Battersea said: “Therapists at Paul’s Cancer Support Centre believe appropriate music can enhance the complementary therapy experience for the client and aid emotional wellbeing.

“We are delighted to be able to be supported by Julia Thomsen and to offer the beautiful Forever Seasons tracks for our clients to enjoy during their therapy sessions.”

The album will launch on 18 November.
